For the Camels

You are going to die when you hear this, but we took a trip to AFRICA this weekend! I know, GET OUT, who would have thought we would be vacationing in Morocco? But we read the trip itinerary and saw "CAMELS" and we knew that we absolutely had to ride one of those precious animals!

beautiful Moroccan coast

cute staircase in Chefchaouen!
so we arrived in tangiers on a rainy day and met our tour guide, Rashid, translated: Slave to the Ladies. IYYY!!! he asked us where we were from, we gave the usual response - California! - and he yells "CALIFORNIA?!! gag me with a spoon!" He just had the funniest lines and at the hotel he made gabrielle try on his moroccan dress, duhh she looked damn good in it! We explored Tangiers later that day and figured this entire trip was going to be such a culture shock for us, but in a good way!

Next day, we woke up and thought today is the day - CAMELS! but we get to breakfast and hear the news that today is not camel day, so back to the room to change our outfits because of course there is a specific outfit for riding camels. Instead we took a trip to a nearby town called Chefchaouen. It is such a cute little town and famous for its pretty blue walls and narrow streets!
Obvious

a house in California, Tangiers
then, monday came..THE BEST DAY EVER!!! We woke up to clear skies, the only  day it did not rain in Morocco, and perfect weather! we put on our camel riding outfits and once again, our fabbbb tour guide Rashid - "in america you have john travolta, in morocco we have rashid" - took us to where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediteranean Sea, such a gorgeouss site! Then we passed through what they call the California of Morocco with big mansions and palm trees -- ahh how much we miss those palm trees in san diego! this day we didn't feel like we were in Morocco, it was practically a paradise here!

We anxiously waited the bus ride and then FINALLY, we made it to THE CAMELS!!!!!! The camel ride made the whole trip! The man who was in charge of the camels, fell in love with gina - naturally as old men always do - and even said good bye to her when we left! we almost cried when we had to say buh  byee to the camels, they were just....de punta madre! OH! and our badass roommate, victoria, made friends with this sickkk moroccan man. he absolutely LOVEDD her and was trying to sell us hats and jewels. and then he sang to us, "MONEY MONEYY MONEYY HONEYYYY!!!" we wanted to take him home!  This day was hands down the best day because we got to see the pretty places Morocco has that made us feel not totally sketched out and we never ever wanted to leave the beach! It was even hot enough to lay out in, but we had to go see some caves after and took some lovely gayy photos -- as usual!  after a moroccan dinner filled with belly dancers and some haterrssss we went back to the hotel for some prime pillow talk, shared some good laughs and went to bed...but gina still wouldn't cuddle with me!!!

Morocco was definitely something different then what we are used to. we are happy we are back in Madrid though, ALIVEEE!!! and have now officially ridden came on the beach, such an awesommeee experience!!!!
